About
Adjusting to life in the United States involves more than just physical relocation; it requires significant emotional and psychological adaptation. This course provides practical strategies to manage the stress of culture shock, the weight of homesickness, and the challenges of identity shifts. Participants will learn how to identify personal triggers, apply grounding techniques in high-stress social situations, and build a local support network. Drawing on community psychology principles, the curriculum focuses on realistic ways to maintain mental well-being while navigating new social norms and workplace expectations in America. Currently, this course is for more intermediate and advanced English speakers and it contains articles and quizzes. These just learning the language (beginners) will need to use a translation software to understand some of the articles.
